How have you seen your role develop or change over the course of your internship?
When I initially came in the first week Lytle and I were mainly doing daily chores and then making demos. Once we reached the second week the majority of time was spent on demos but we slowly went into the pottery side with learning how to crush dry clay to be repurposed and to learn how to grind the glaze off of the kiln shelves, but things didn't really pick up until week three. Week three was the week we went from mainly 2d demos being made to learning the ins and outs of clay whether it be repurposing, making/creating the 1 week process of curing the dry clay scraps into new usable clay, making clay demos for kids or learning about the important use of underglazes. In week 4 the vast majority of our time went into clay pottery and making sure we stayed on top of the clays different messes/issues that were being presented.

What is going well with your project? What challenges are you facing?

Me and lytle have been laying out the base of a mural for the artist outpost for our project, and things have been working out pretty good for us so far! We have been talking with Meryl, Eryn and Roberta about planning the layout of the mural and are planning on using cardboard or wood to build a sort of polaroid type frame for the mural. The hardest challenge has been making up our mind on the design of the actual mural. We have had so many switchups and better ideas every time we think we are done. Although I see this process as something that will bring out the best outcomes!
